What is the North Dakota Personal Assistance Registry?

The North Dakota Personal Assistance Registry is a customized internet based system designed to match the needs of in-home consumers directing their own personal care with individual or agency personal care providers such as ND Qualified Service Providers (QSPs). The Registry is managed by the North Dakota Center for Persons with Disabilities at Minot State University as part of the ND Medicaid Infrastructure Grant.

How will the North Dakota Personal Assistance Registry help me?

The Registry can provide consumers with a listing of the names of potential PCAs, as well as detailed information regarding availability, expected wages, services provided, contact information and more. It can also help providers who would like to work more get their information to consumer looking for care providers.

How do I begin?

Consumers looking for potential PCAs can click on the "Sign Up" link on the North Dakota Personal Assistance Registry website. They will be asked to provide a valid email address and password to log-in. They will then be asked what North Dakota county they live in and what services and time frames they are interested in searching. The Registry will produce a list of names of potential PCAs who match the county, services and time frames requested. Consumers will then click on a name to see detailed information about the potential PCA.

Will my personal information be on the World Wide Web for anyone and everyone to see?

No. Consumers and providers will provide a first and last name, phone number, and a valid email address in order to log-in to the Registry database. No one has access to this information except those who are registered users of the website.

Does the North Dakota Personal Assistance Registry meet accessibility standards?

Have the potential personal care attendants listed on the North Dakota Personal Assistance Registry had criminal background checks?

No. The North Dakota Personal Assistance Registry is a referral registry service only. It does not replace your normal hiring procedures. There are links to resources within the Registry website where a consumer can access information about how to conduct a criminal background check through the ND Attorney General’s Office. Consumers are encouraged to carefully check backgrounds and references for potential PCAs.

What is the cost for accessing and using the North Dakota Personal Assistance Registry?

There is no charge for consumers or PCAs to use the Registry.
